Various entities have been working on GPS on Benchmarks for quite some time within the Central Coast Chapters area of influence. The effort was raised when the chapter initiated the local drive. Below are some charts showing what has been going on in our neighborhood.
I couple of items of note when you look at this data:
- Monterey County only goes to San Ardo along 101 and to about Gorda on Hwy 1
- Santa Barbara County only goes to about Buellton and Lompoc
- The CLSA Data entered into the GPS on Benchmarks was entered by Ed Reading as County Surveyor, so it shows on NGS as County of San Luis Obispo
- Caltrans has done much work on their own, but coordinated with the chapter for the 2021 and 2022 campaigns
- We will update this with 2023 data as we get it
